KATE WHITBREAD
Kate Whitbread is a producer of feature films, television series, television commercials, live theatre and events. Her company KWFilms develops and produces content with a focus on female audiences worldwide.
Kate’s feature film credits include THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME, distributed by Samuel Goldwyn; AFI and IF.Award winning feature film THE CATERPILLAR WISH for Palace films. Kate produced and co-directed SURVIVING GEORGIA with Sandra Sciberras and which starred Shane Jacobson and Pia Miranda, and DEEPER THAN BLUE with Colin Friels and Susie Porter. Kate has also produced a number of short films including OUT OF ORDER which she also directed.
In 2019 Kate will produce THE WOLF OF ROSTOV by George Viscas, and MAXWELL by Sandra Sciberras. She is also developing for television BEFORE SUMMER, an 8 part contemporary thriller set on the Mornington Peninsula, GIRLS IN THE STREET, the moving 2 part story of the Australian artist Joy Hester and is currently Executive Producer on the independent sci-fi/thriller LIFE ON EARTH: RESURRECTION, the debut feature film from writer and director Kieran King.

DARREN MARKEY
Darren has written, directed, produced and acted in some 13 stage productions with his 2001 production of The Watch in the Window earning critical acclaim from the national press. He worked alongside acclaimed actress Diane Cilento and Oscar nominated Tony Shaffer as Resident Director at Karnak Playhouse, Far North Queensland, completed his first screenplay Lilly, and travelled to Los Angeles where he got lost in a giant martini, somewhere on Sunset.
Returning home led to the production and his direction of the planned TV series THE BLESSED and a subsequent slate of screen projects. Darren’s psychological horror script, THE TUTOR, did the rounds at Cannes 2016 and is slated for production in 2019. Darren was writer and associate producer on the supernatural thriller, The Unlit. Darren’s work as Festival Director for Lorne Film saw him heading up the Lorne Film Screenwriter Award, leading him to read and assess over 105 screenplays from local screenwriters. Darren loves film and loves screenwriting – his approach is always about the story and preserving the essence that makes that story unique.

PAUL HUGHES
Paul is a Melbourne-based cinematographer. He worked for seven years as a focus puller on television projects and features such as VAN DIEMAN’S LAND, while concurrently serving as cinematographer on numerous TVCs and short films. He was the main cinematographer on the award-winning web series COP HARD, co-directed by Jonathan auf der Heide, Alethea Jones and Oscar Redding, and shot the Tropfest finalist short film THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS.
